Request Account Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your Six Lines account and associated personal data at any time. This page explains how to submit a deletion request, what data will be removed, and what information may be retained for legitimate business purposes.

How to Request Account Deletion

Step 1: Send Email Request

To request account deletion, send an email from the email address associated with your Six Lines account to our privacy team:

Email: privacy@digitalrain.studio

Subject line: "Six Lines Account Deletion Request"

Step 2: Include Required Information

Please include the following information in your deletion request:

  • The email address associated with your Six Lines account
  • Confirmation that you want to permanently delete your account and data
  • (Optional) Any specific concerns or feedback about why you're leaving

Step 3: Verification and Processing

After receiving your request, we will:

  • Respond within 48 hours to acknowledge receipt of your request
  • Verify your identity to protect against unauthorized deletion requests
  • Process the deletion within 7 business days and send confirmation

What Data Will Be Deleted

Premium Account Data (if applicable)

If you have a premium Six Lines account, the following data will be permanently deleted:

  • Your email address and authentication credentials (Sign in with Apple token)
  • Personal content you created (journal entries, notes, saved readings)
  • Profile information and preferences
  • Cloud sync data stored on our servers
  • Usage analytics and app activity logs tied to your account

Free/Local-Only App Data

If you use the free version of Six Lines without an account, all your data is stored locally on your device. We do not collect or store this data on our servers. To delete this data:

  • On iOS: Delete the Six Lines app from your device
  • Or use the in-app "Clear All Data" option in Settings
  • This will remove all hexagram readings, journal entries, and usage indicators from your device

Data Retention and Legal Obligations

What We May Keep

Some information may be retained for legitimate business purposes, even after account deletion:

  • Transaction records: Required by law for tax and accounting purposes (7 years)
  • Fraud prevention data: Anonymized security logs to protect against abuse
  • Service improvement: Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics (not linked to you)

Any retained data will be the minimum necessary to comply with legal obligations and will not be used to identify you personally.

Retention Period

Personal data required for legal compliance (such as purchase receipts and subscription records) will be retained for the legally required period (typically 7 years for financial records), after which it will be securely destroyed. All other personal data is deleted immediately upon account deletion.

Important Considerations

Deletion is Permanent

Once your account is deleted, this action cannot be reversed. Please consider the following before proceeding:

  • All your journal entries, notes, and saved readings will be permanently lost
  • Your reading history and hexagram insights will be deleted
  • If you have an active subscription, it will be canceled (no prorated refunds)
  • You will lose access to premium features immediately

Alternatives to Deletion

If you're concerned about privacy or want to take a break, consider these alternatives:

  • Export your data: Download a copy of your journal and readings before deleting
  • Deactivate temporarily: Contact us about temporarily suspending your account
  • Update your data: Correct or update personal information instead of deleting entirely
