Yilin Verse
入和出明,動作有光;轉運休息,常樂永康。
Entering in harmony, going forth in brightness; movement and action carry light. Fortune turns and rest arrives -- ever joyful, ever well.
— Jiao Yanshou, Yilin (Forest of Changes), 1st century BCE
Commentary
Fire and thunder crack through impediments, and the result is radiant movement. Entering brings harmony, going forth brings brightness; every action carries its own light. The cycles of fortune turn and rest in their proper rhythm — eternal joy, permanent well-being. The verse reads like a blessing formula, each phrase affirming felicity. From Biting Through to Fellowship, fire ascends to meet heaven. What was once forced through by judicial teeth now flows as the natural warmth of shared purpose. The transformation reveals that true fellowship emerges after obstacles are cleared — when people no longer need rules to unite them, because their shared light already draws them together.
