Yilin Verse
三人為旅,俱歸北海。入門上堂,拜謁王母。勞賜我酒,懽樂無彊。
Three men travel together, all journeying to the northern sea. Entering the gate, ascending the hall, they pay respects to the Queen Mother. She rewards them with wine; joy and delight are boundless.

Commentary
A spring beneath the mountain joins a party of three who journey together to the northern sea. Entering the gate and ascending the hall, they pay respects to the Queen Mother, who rewards them with wine — joy knows no bounds. The Queen Mother of the West, enthroned on Mount Kunlun above the Weak Water, is guardian of immortality and celestial blessing. A pilgrimage of three companions to her court suggests a fraternal quest for transcendence. From Youthful Folly to The Well, the transformation uncovers inexhaustible nourishment. Water rises through wood — the well serves all who draw from it, never running dry. The naif who journeys far enough discovers that the deepest source of sustenance was always there, waiting to be tapped by those who travel together in good faith.
