Six in the second place means: The curtain is of such fullness That the polestars can be seen at noon. Through going one meets with mistrust and hate. If one rouses him through truth, Good fortune comes.

Leading the sheep, it will not follow; the heart resists and turns back. Hearing words but not believing, deceiving and misleading the elder.

Commentary
Thunder and fire join in Abundance, but trust collapses. One leads a sheep but refuses to hand it over; the heart turns contrary and revolts. Words are heard but not believed; the elder is deceived by lies. Every exchange in this verse is spoiled — the sheep withheld, the promise broken, the words mistrusted, the senior misled. The 'elder' (丈人) may denote a father-in-law or a respected senior, making the deception particularly grave. From Abundance to Duration, thunder and wind reinforce each other: Duration requires standing firm in one direction, yet the verse shows every bond twisted into its opposite. Where Duration demands constancy, here every relationship churns with betrayal, making endurance impossible when no word can be trusted.
