六爻Liù Yáo

What is Liu Yao?

The Six Lines structural analytical method, formalized by Jing Fang during the Western Han dynasty (77-37 BC). It transforms a hexagram from a literary text into a quantifiable structural analysis by assigning stem-branch pairs, Five Element attributes, and Six Relative roles to each line. The I-Ching tells you "what" — Liu Yao tells you "how strong." Also called Wen Wang Gua (文王卦).
