東山西陵，高峻難升。滅夷掘壘，使道不通。商旅無功，復反其邦。
Eastern mountains and western ridges, lofty and steep, hard to climb. Leveling the land and breaching the ramparts, the road is made impassable. Merchants gain nothing; they turn back to their own lands.

注释
天在山中，大畜蓄力之象。東山西陵，高峻難升——東西群山，峻嶺難越。滅夷掘壘——摧毀堡壘，掘平營寨。使道不通——斷絕通路。商旅無功，復反其邦——商人無所得而歸。此詩寫以山為兵器、以地形為屏障之軍事封鎖。從大畜至噬嗑（電雷），蓄積之山化為雷電交擊之象。噬嗑者，明罰勅法，有阻隔則咬破之。然此詩之阻隔為人為設置，強者封山斷路，商旅成為被排斥者。蓄積之力若用於封鎖而非開通，則利己而害天下。
