Wolves and tigers mass together, banding for mutual protection. They lie in wait to prey on cattle and sheep; the road is severed, impassable. They afflict our merchants.

天在山中，大畜蓄積之象。狼虎結集，相聚為保——狼與虎群聚互保。伺嚙牛羊——伺機噬咬牛羊。道絕不通——道路斷絕。病我商人——商旅困頓成疾。從大畜至復（雷在地中），山中蓄積之力化為一陽初復之微動。復者，先王以至日閉關，商旅不行。詩中商旅不通正合復卦之象——冬至閉關，陽氣初復尚弱，狼虎橫行之世非商旅出行之時。蓄積雖厚，時機未至則強行突破反遭其害。待陽氣漸長，猛獸自散。
