注释
天在山中，大畜畜德之象。寧夬鴟鴞——制伏鴟鴞。「鴟鴞」出《詩經·豳風·鴟鴞》，周公所作。以鴟鴞奪巢喻叛亂威脅幼年周室。治成御災——治理既成，禍患得防。綏德安家——以德安家。周公勤勞——周公殫精竭慮。周公平三監之亂，攝政輔成王，制禮作樂，天下乃安。從大畜至蹇（山上有水），蓄積之力遇水阻山路之困。蹇者，反身修德。周公之應對正合此旨——以蓄積之德面對重重阻礙，不以武力逞強而以修德化險。蹇而不止，勞而不怨。
