Yilin Verse
東山西岳，會合俱食，百家送從，以成恩福。
East mountain, west peak; meeting together to feast. A hundred families attend and follow, and so grace and blessing are fulfilled.

Commentary
Eastern mountains and western peaks converge to feast together. A hundred households escort them with ceremony, perfecting bonds of mutual grace and blessing. From Creative to Duration, thunder above wind — the image of enduring commitment. Heng's counsel is to stand firm and not change direction. The verse renders this as a grand assembly where east meets west, mountains from opposite ends of the realm joining in communion. The hundred households represent a community sustained not by momentary enthusiasm but by the durable customs of escorting, feasting, and reciprocal blessing. What endures is not stone but the practiced ritual of gathering, season after season, generation after generation.
