Commentary
Earth above heaven, Peace's bountiful communion, conjures an image of a fine horse: four-footed and hornless, the kind a gentleman would ride. Mounted on this steed, he journeys south to fulfill his duties, reporting to the court on his inspection tour. Fortune follows naturally. The 'four-footed without horns' formula describes a horse by negation — distinguishing it from oxen or deer — and the southern journey echoes the sage-king's circuit of inspection, traveling outward to assess the realm. From Peace to Waiting, clouds gather above heaven but rain has not yet fallen; the traveler proceeds with calm assurance, knowing that proper timing brings blessing. Nourishment awaits those who attend to duty with patience.
