Yilin Verse
宮商既和,聲音相隨;驪駒在門,主君以歡。

Commentary
Earth holds the mountain in harmony. The gong and shang notes blend perfectly, their tones following one another in accord. A fine colt stands at the gate — the farewell song 'Liju' echoing the Shijing tradition of parting — and the host is filled with delight. Musical harmony here symbolizes social concord: when different tones find their proper place, even departures become celebrations. From Modesty to Fellowship, heaven joins with fire, illuminating the world through shared purpose. The verse captures Fellowship's essence: diverse elements (different musical notes, host and guest) united by a common aesthetic and moral order. Modesty provides the ground tone — the willingness to accommodate — that makes true fellowship possible.
