九四 隨有獲。貞凶。有孚在道以明。何咎。
Nine in the fourth place means: Following creates success. Perseverance brings misfortune. To go one's way with sincerity brings clarity. How could there be blame in this?

九五 孚于嘉。吉。
Nine in the fifth place means: Sincere in the good. Good fortune.

上六 拘係之。乃從維之。王用亨于西山。
Six at the top means: He meets with firm allegiance And is still further bound. The king introduces him To the Western Mountain.

Yilin Verse
伯仲叔季,日暮寢寐;坐臥失明,喪其貝囊。
Eldest, second, third, and fourth -- at dusk they lie down to sleep. Sitting and reclining, they lose their sight; they lose their purse of coins.

Commentary
Thunder rests within the lake, and four brothers — eldest, second, third, youngest — settle into evening sleep as the sun goes down. Sitting and lying in darkness, they lose their sight and their purse of cowries is stolen. The verse depicts a household drifting into negligent slumber: the orderly succession of brothers (bo, zhong, shu, ji) suggests a structured family, yet all fall asleep together and awaken to find their valuables gone. From Following to Great Taming, the irony cuts deep — Da Xu stores heaven within the mountain, accumulating wisdom and strength. Yet this family's store is plundered precisely because they followed the wrong impulse: the ease of sleep rather than the vigilance that true accumulation demands.
