Commentary
Fire beneath the mountain sends a rider on a futile chase. Riding a pig to chase sheep — an absurdly mismatched pursuit — one never catches sight of the quarry. Then, passing through a tiger's den, the rams and sheep are all lost. The comedy turns deadly: the wrong mount for the wrong prey leads through the worst possible terrain, and what little one had is devoured. From Grace to Inner Truth, fire beneath the mountain yields to wind above the lake. Inner Truth demands hollowness at the center — genuine emptiness that allows resonance. The pig-mounted sheep-chaser embodies the opposite: a person so misaligned in means and ends that no authentic connection is possible. Truth requires matching the instrument to the purpose.
