Yilin Verse
娶於姜呂,駕迎新婦。少齊在門,夫子歡喜。

Commentary
Wind emerges from fire as the family hearth warms with celebration. A bride is taken from the Jiang and Lu clans — surnames of ancient aristocratic houses — and the carriage drives forth to welcome the new wife. The young woman of Qi stands at the gate, and the husband rejoices. This verse draws on Shijing marriage imagery, where proper unions between noble houses cement social order. The bride's arrival at the threshold marks the founding moment of a new household. From The Family to Difficulty at the Beginning, clouds and thunder gather as new life struggles to take root. Marriage, like any beginning, emerges through uncertainty; the joy at the gate is real, but the road ahead requires patient cultivation of what has just been planted.
