Nine at the top means: Isolated through opposition, One sees one's companion as a pig covered with dirt, As a wagon full of devils. First one draws a bow against him, then one lays the bow aside. He is not a robber; he will woo at the right time. As one goes, rain falls; then good fortune comes.

Commentary
Fire above the lake, and joy arrives like gathering clouds, enveloping the entire household in delight. Talented gentlemen of many abilities drive fortune right up to the gate — blessings so abundant they overflow the threshold. The verse radiates uncomplicated happiness: good people appear, the family celebrates, and prosperity arrives not through struggle but through the natural convergence of virtue and opportunity. There is no shadow in this poem, no hidden reversal. From Opposition to Abundance, thunder and lightning arrive together, and the gentleman renders judgments and executes punishment with decisive clarity. The transformation from communal joy to sovereign abundance reveals that when talented people gather around a worthy center, the resulting fullness carries with it the responsibility of clear governance — abundance must be administered, not merely enjoyed.
