Commentary
A spring beneath the mountain nurtures a maiden destined for greatness. The youngest daughter of the Youxin clan became consort to a lord of Xia — some traditions identify her as the mother who bore Yu the Great's heirs, others link her to King Tang's consort who brought Yi Yin as part of her dowry. She secures a noble husband and long-lived sons; the maternal title extends to all within the four seas. From Youthful Folly to Progress, the transformation traces how hidden merit advances into the light. Fire rises above the earth, illuminating virtue that was formerly obscure. The maiden from a minor clan, once naive and provincial, becomes the mother of an empire — her worth recognized as naturally as dawn breaks over the horizon.
