Six in the second place means: The curtain is of such fullness That the polestars can be seen at noon. Through going one meets with mistrust and hate. If one rouses him through truth, Good fortune comes.
Line 4
九四 豐其蔀。日中見斗。遇其夷主。吉。
Nine in the fourth place means: The curtain is of such fullness That the polestars can be seen at noon. He meets his ruler, who is of like kind. Good fortune.
Line 5
六五 來章。有慶譽吉。
Six in the fifth place means: Lines are coming, Blessing and fame draw near. Good fortune.

Yilin Verse
桀跖並處，民困愁苦。行旅遲遲，留連齊魯。
Heavy taxes press the shoulders until bones nearly break. Checkpoints layer upon layer — the road is blocked. The farmer abandons his hoe and flees to the mountains — but the tiger's roar in the mountains terrifies the heart too.

Commentary
Thunder and fire illuminate Abundance, and the original verse names two archetypal villains. 'Jie and Zhi dwell together; the people are distressed and suffering. Travelers proceed haltingly, lingering between Qi and Lu.' When tyrant Jie of Xia and bandit-chief Zhi occupy the land simultaneously, the common folk have nowhere to turn. Travel becomes perilous; people stall between states, belonging to neither. The combination of despotic ruler and outlaw strips away all security. From Abundance to the Well, water rises through wood: the Well never moves, never runs dry, and serves everyone without discrimination. Against the verse's nightmare of lawless misrule, the Well offers the fundamental infrastructure of civilization — the resource that sustains regardless of who holds political power.
