Yilin Verse
茆屋結席,崇我文德。三辰旂旗,家受行福。
A thatch-roofed house with woven mats, exalting my civil virtue. Banners of the three luminaries; the house receives traveling blessing.

Commentary
Paired lakes open to wind above the lake — Inner Truth, where sincerity penetrates even pigs and fish. From a thatched cottage with woven-rush seats, one cultivates literary virtue. Banners bearing the three celestial bodies — sun, moon, and stars — grace the household, and blessings of conduct are received. The thatched hut signals humble origins; the three-luminary banners signal cosmic recognition of that humility. From The Joyous to Inner Truth, joy is distilled into the sincerity that moves heaven. Wind upon the lake stirs the deepest waters. The scholar in the rush-woven cottage who cultivates virtue is heard by heaven precisely because no pretense intervenes — sincerity from below reaching upward like wind across open water.
