山上有雷，小過之去。九疑鬱林——九疑山與鬱林郡，地處南方深處，相傳為舜帝葬地。沮濕不中——沼澤潮濕，不宜居住。漢人心中，南方意味瘴氣、流放與險難。鸞鳳所惡——最高貴之瑞鳥亦嫌棄此地。君子攸去——君子由此離去。鳳凰不棲卑濕之地，賢者不留不宜之所。從小過至晉（明出地上），山上之雷化為日出地上之晉。君子離開沼澤本身即進步之第一步：知所擇地而後可進，不困於有害之境。
