弓矢俱張，把彈折絃，丸發不至。道遇害患。乾至明夷，明入地中，明夷之象也。君子以蒞眾，用晦而明。詩寫明夷之危：武器備而不能用，弦斷丸失，行路者暴露於險境而毫無防護。斷弦為能力在壓力下崩裂之象。明夷之世，光明入地，連備好之力量亦會失靈。卦旨以晦養明，然此人攜顯眼之器而器不能用，招來危險卻無以自保。天之剛健若不知韜晦，反為害患之因。
