陽低頭，陰仰首——天地顛倒之象。水為災，傷我足。進不利，難生子。乾至漸，山上有木，漸之象也。君子以居賢德善俗。漸為循序漸進之卦，如鴻雁逐級而上。然陰陽錯位使漸進之基礎被破壞：陽本當上而下伏，陰本當下而上僭。水應滋養山木，此處卻為水災。連最根本之創生——生育——亦因序之顛倒而受阻。漸之道在於按部就班，此處本末倒置，一步都邁不出。
