注释
履泥汙足，名困身辱——踏泥濕足，名聲受損、身體蒙辱。兩仇相得，身為痛瘧——兩敵相遇，身受寒熱之苦。從小失（泥足）至大禍（仇敵、瘧疾），步步沉淪。痛瘧為反覆發作之熱病，暗示折磨不止一次。從大有至鼎（木上有火），天火化為風木上火——鼎之煉化。鼎本應精煉提升，然此詩呈現鼎之失敗：錯誤之材料相遇（兩仇相得），鼎煉出毒而非養。泥足為踏入錯誤之鼎的第一步。正位凝命，鼎之道在所煉必正，否則成禍。
