地勢坤，厚德載物。栵潔累累，締結難解——荊棘叢生，糾結難解。嫫母衒嫁，媒不得坐——嫫母自誇求嫁，然無媒人敢為之說合。自為身禍——反為己招禍。嫫母為傳說中之醜女，然為黃帝之妃，內德勝於外貌。明出地上，晉之象：君子以自昭明德。晉者，進也，光明上進。然嫫母之進非自昭而是自衒，非待人識而是強人識。從坤至晉，大地之蘊藏須待日出而顯，然若時機未到而強行推銷，則進反為退。晉之道在自昭明德，非衒賣其能。
