地勢坤,厚德載物。塗遏道塞,求事不得——道路被堵,前行不通,所求之事不可得。僅此二句,斷然而止。兼山,艮之象:君子以思不出其位。艮者,止也,當止則止。此詩以極簡之辭寫極止之意——路塞則不通,事阻則不得,更無贅言。從坤至艮,大地之廣闊豎起重山以阻行旅:坤之所予,艮盡收之。坤本無所不容,艮則設限以止。詩之短促正如艮之教誨——止之時到,多言無益,不如一止了然。
