電雷噬嗑，明罰之卦。東家殺牛，污臭腥臊——東鄰殺牛獻祭，然腥臭難聞，禮已敗壞。神背西顧——神靈背過身去，面向西方。命絕衰周——天命斷絕於衰敗之周。此呼應《易經》既濟九五「東鄰殺牛，不如西鄰之禴祭」：盛祭無誠不如薄祭有心。從噬嗑至巽（隨風巽），重風無所不入。然風所揭示者：當祭祀腐敗，神靈自去。再多之牲牢亦喚不回已離之天命。
