山附於地為剝，地中有山為謙。三婦同夫而忽不相思——共處一室卻情意全消。志恆悲愁，顏色不怡——長久憂戚，面無喜色。謙卦本義為裒多益寡、稱物平施，此處卻成另一種「平」：感情之均平化，人人無所偏愛，亦人人無所歡欣。從剝至謙，山本附於地上而崩，今入地下而隱。三婦之處境正如地中之山：表面平坦和順，內裡各自孤立。謙德若失其溫潤之心，便只剩冷漠之「公平」。不爭非因知足，而因已無可爭。
