The mottled horses return from campaign, to rest from toil and weariness. The conscript rejoices, entering the door to see his wife.

注释
山附於地為剝，雷電為噬嗑。班馬還師——斑馬回營，軍隊歸還。以息勞疲——為休養疲憊之師。役夫忻喜，入戶見妻——征夫歡喜歸家，推門見妻。此詩寫戰後歸鄉之樂，長征終結之釋然。從剝至噬嗑，緩慢之剝蝕化為雷電之果斷一擊。噬嗑者，明罰敕法，咬斷阻礙之物。征戰本身即為阻礙，決斷結束之後，人民得以回歸正常。噬嗑以迅捷之力切斷腐敗，此詩中所切斷者即漫長之軍役，還以百姓天倫之樂。
