Nine at the top means: There is a large fruit still uneaten. The superior man receives a carriage. The house of the inferior man is split apart.

被服文德，升入大麓。四門雍肅，登受大福。
Incense smoke curls around the high altar; jade scepter held in both hands, entering court. Three golden bells ring — all gates open; ten thousand ministers prostrate, hymns echoing afar.

注释
山附於地為剝，雷在地中為復。原詩「被服文德，升入大麓」——舜帝以文德為衣，入大麓受試。「四門雍肅，登受大福」——四方之門莊嚴肅穆，舜登位受天之大福。舜以至孝被堯選拔，非以武力而以德行受命。從剝至復，為《易》之最根本循環：六陰剝盡，一陽復生於下。「復，其見天地之心乎」——復之一陽即天地之仁心。舜之由匹夫而受禪讓，正是此理之化身：腐朽剝盡之處，德行自下而生。
