童女無媒，不宜動搖。安其居廬，傅母何憂？
A young maiden without a matchmaker; she should not stir or move. Let her stay at ease in her dwelling; what worry has the guardian mother?

注释
天在山中，大畜蓄養之象。童女無媒——少女無媒人。不宜動搖——不宜輕舉妄動。安其居廬——安居其所。傅母何憂——傅母又何須擔心？此詩寫待嫁之女當安於閨中，無媒則不可出——守禮之道。傅母為古代陪嫁守禮之老婦。從大畜至旅（山上有火），蓄養之靜化為火行山上之旅——旅人居無定所。然此詩反勸安居：尚未到出行之時，當蓄於室中。旅者明慎用刑而不留獄，寓意果斷。然對未準備好之人而言，守蓄待時勝於倉促出行。
