Two men both head east; on the road they fall into dispute. Their intentions diverge and clash; they make their lord anxious and agitated.

雲雷屯，化為山上有木之漸。二人俱東，道路爭訟，意乖不同，使君忷忷——二人同行向東，途中爭吵不休，志向相左，令主人不安。風在山上，木漸而長——漸卦以循序漸進為義。然此詩示當同行者不能同心，漸進之程即停滯。從屯至漸，本許以有機之成長，然共識為前提。同伴途中爭訟，最溫和之向上動力亦被阻斷，君主不得安寧而非得以提升。
