The household lacks food; in distress, with no one to tell. The facing doors do not open; there is no refuge for the urgent.

注释
雷風恆，持久之象。門戶乏食——家中缺糧。困無誰告——困窘而無人可訴。對門不通——對面之門不通。莫所歸急——無處投奔。恆者持久，然此處所恆者為飢困。門前門後皆閉，鄰里不通，求助無門。從恆至節（澤上有水），節者限也，以水節澤。然此詩之節非合理之限制，而是致命之封鎖——節制成為禁閉，邊界成為牢籠。恆久的匱乏遇上不可逾越的限制，持久之苦無解脫之日。
