雷在天上，然舉袂覆目，不見日月——以袖蒙眼，拒絕光明。衣衾杖几，就其夜室——裹被扶几，退入暗室。或為喪期，或為病中，或為遭貶——全然退出世界。從大壯至革，澤中有火：治曆明時，舊制必革。革命之前必先入全暗——覆目不見日月非敗退，乃蛻變前之必經黑暗，如蛹之閉於繭中。壯力暫時熄滅，正為下一輪光明蓄勢。
