秋隼冬翔，數被嚴霜。甲兵充庭，萬物不生。雄父夜鳴，民大擾驚。
The autumn hawk soars through winter skies, battered by bitter frost. Arms and armor fill the courtyard; the ten thousand things cease to grow. The cock crows in the night; the people are greatly startled and alarmed.

注释
澤無水，困之象也。秋隼冬翔，狩獵不依時令；數被嚴霜，屢遭肅殺之氣。甲兵充庭，萬物不生；雄父夜鳴，民大擾驚。鷹不按季、雞不分晝夜，每一細節皆為天道紊亂之徵。夜鳴呼應「牝雞司晨」之凶兆，陰陽倒錯之象。從困至節（澤上有水），君子制數度議德行。節當施必要之約束，然此詩中天然之限度已被突破，僅餘死亡為最後之「節制」。
