澤上有雷為歸妹，山上有水為蹇。拔劍傷手，見敵不善；良臣無佐，國憂為咎。劍傷己手，武力反噬；敵前之勢不利，忠臣孤立無援。從歸妹至蹇，山上有水，行路維艱。蹇卦「君子以反身修德」，外困則內省。忠臣無佐正是蹇之困境：前有險阻，後無援兵，唯有反觀自省、涵養其德。歸妹之衝動在蹇之阻面前碰壁——拔劍而傷己，正是衝動遇阻之寫照。
