The spring rises at the foot of the hill, flowing along the mountain base. It does not cause violent harm; the people find peaceful dwelling.

風行天上，化為山上有澤之咸。泉出丘陵之足，沿山趾緩緩而行。不為暴害氾濫，民得安居無擾。從小畜至咸，詩寫咸卦之理想：感而不傷，潤而不溢，應而不迫。咸之象為山上有澤，君子以虛受人——上虛下實，空靈以感，感應自然而生。此處山泉為虛受之自然流露：水循最緩之坡度而下，潤澤山下村落百姓而無暴虐之害。感應之至純者，不過如此：順勢而流，自然而至，不假造作，不強其所不欲。
