注释
風行天上，化為地中有水之師。鑿山通道，南達嘉國之美土；周公祝禱祖先，魯襄公適往荊楚。此詩寫周人出征前之全套禮制準備：祭祀以得神靈護佑，鑿山以通物理之途，禮與工並舉。從小畜至師，文德之蓄養轉化為有序之動員。鑿山非為戰場之攻，乃為行軍之基建——師卦「容民畜眾」之義，在於未發兵前已備萬全。道路先成，後勤無虞，大軍方能南下無阻。
