Lofty and towering, the Northern Peak; heaven's spirits are honored guests. Warm, benevolent, upright, and just, the lord bestows grace and virtue. Grieving ceaselessly in compassion, he receives great blessing.

Commentary
Heaven stored within the mountain gives way to earth above the lake — Approach. The towering northern peak stands like a sacred host; heavenly spirits arrive as honored guests. Warm benevolence and upright integrity spread blessings and virtue. Compassion never ceases, and great fortune follows. The lofty mountain evokes the Northern Sacred Peak, one of the Five Sacred Mountains, where heaven and earth converge. The divine visitors are drawn by accumulated virtue. From Great Taming to Approach, the mountain's stored heaven becomes the lake's rising water pressing upward toward earth — the approach of benevolent authority. What was stored now descends as grace, and those who cultivated compassion during the taming receive heaven's abundant blessing.
