Commentary
Thunder over water opens into earth resting above the lake — the generous approach of authority. The heaven's grandchild, the emperor's child, dwells alongside the sun and moon. Radiant to the world, blessings and good fortune multiply without end. The 'heaven's grandchild and emperor's child' suggests a figure of supreme celestial lineage, an ideal ruler whose legitimacy is cosmic. From Deliverance to Approach, the release from obstruction allows benevolent power to descend. Earth over the lake: the ruler approaches his people with inexhaustible generosity, teaching without limit and sheltering without boundary. The storm has cleared, and what approaches now is royal grace itself.
