Yilin Verse
日中為市,各抱所有,交易貲賄,函珠懷寶。心悅歡喜。
At midday the market is set; each brings what he has. They trade goods and wealth, clasping pearls and cherishing treasures. Hearts rejoice with gladness.

Commentary
Thunder doubled meets heaven over thunder: shock aligned with heaven's innocence. At noon the market opens; each brings what they have, exchanging goods and currencies, carrying pearls and treasuring jewels. The heart is delighted and joyful. The midday market (日中為市) alludes to the Xici Zhuan's account of Shennong establishing markets at noon, enabling the people to exchange what they had for what they needed. From The Arousing to Innocence, heaven's thunder moves freely beneath, creating conditions for spontaneous, unforced exchange. The joy here is genuine because the trade is natural — each person brings their authentic surplus, and the system works without manipulation. Thunder under heaven: action aligned with cosmic order produces prosperity without artifice.
