Yilin Verse
中田膏黍,以享王母;受福千億,所求大得。
In the central fields, rich millet; offered in feast to the Queen Mother. Receiving blessings by the billions; what is sought is greatly obtained.
— Jiao Yanshou, Yilin (Forest of Changes), 1st century BCE
Commentary
Wind above heaven erupts into thunder and lightning together — Abundance's overwhelming fullness. Rich millet grows in the central fields, offered to the Queen Mother in sacrifice. Blessings pour down by the billions; every wish is greatly fulfilled. From Small Taming to Abundance, gentle cultivation explodes into Feng's maximum brilliance. Thunder and fire converge: energy and clarity united at their peak. The offering to the Queen Mother — divine matriarch of Mount Kunlun, keeper of the peaches of immortality — elevates a simple harvest into cosmic exchange. When human effort aligns with celestial favor, the return is not merely proportional but superabundant. Feng warns that such fullness cannot last, but in this moment the cup overflows.
