雷出地奮，本為豐收之兆，然蝗蟲噬稻，驅之不去，實穗全無，但見空藁——農事盡毀，人力無奈。蝗災為古代最恐之天災，一至則赤地千里。從豫至師（地中有水），歡慶化為動員：師之象為水蓄地中，君子容民畜眾。當豐饒被吞噬殆盡，唯有組織之力、紀律之師方能應對——非為征伐之榮，而為存亡之戰。
