注释
地勢坤，厚德載物。四足無角，君子所服——四足而無角之獸，為君子所用。南征述職，以惠我國——南行述職，利益國家。無角之獸或指馬、或指羊，皆溫順可御之畜。述職者，諸侯朝覲天子報告政務也。從坤至履（上天下澤），地之柔順化為如履虎尾之謹慎。履者，辯上下定民志，以禮行事。坤之臣以無角之馴順行南征之職責，不以剛猛而以恭順。柔順行於險途，正合履之道：不咥人，亨。
