The crane stole my pearl and fled to the eastern capital. The swan pursued in fury to the ruins of Guo. Finding no trace of the prize, it brought only calamity in return.

注释
山附於地為剝，雷出地奮為豫。鶴盜珠而逃東都，鵠怒追至郭氏之墟——鶴竊寶珠飛逝，鴻鵠憤怒追逐，追至郭國廢墟。不見蹤跡，反為禍災。郭氏之墟或指虢國，前655年為晉所滅。鵠之追逐本出義憤，然追入廢墟而一無所獲，反自陷險境。從剝至豫，山崩之後雷動地奮，能量爆發。然豫之精義在於順動、預備，非盲目衝刺。此詩中之追逐者不識時勢，一腔熱血奔入虛空。豫而不察方向，則奮發之力反成禍端。
