虵行蜿蜒，不能上阪。履節安居，可以無憂。
The serpent winds and slithers, unable to climb the slope. Treading on measure and dwelling in peace, one may be free from worry.

注释
山附於地為剝，澤上有水為節。蛇行蜿蜒，不能上阪——蛇曲折前行，爬不上山坡。履節安居，可以無憂——遵循節度、安於居所，便可無憂。蛇遇坡而不能升，此非悲劇而是自然之限。詩不嘆其不能，反言守節之樂：知止則安。從剝至節，山之剝蝕劃定新的邊界。昔日之高峰今成緩坡——然正是此坡賦予地形以可用之形。「制數度，議德行」——節之精義在適度之界限。蛇接受其限則得安寧，強求突破則徒增疲憊。
