上六 迷復。凶。有災眚。用行師。終有大敗。以其國君凶。至于十年不克征。
Six at the top means: Missing the return. Misfortune. Misfortune from within and without. If armies are set marching in this way, One will in the end suffer a great defeat, Disastrous for the ruler of the country. For ten years It will not be possible to attack again.

Born in spring, nursed in summer; plumage fully formed. Rising at the proper time; lord and minister in mutual accord. Thieves flee and run north; in the end, no darkness.

雷在地中，春生夏乳——春天誕生，夏天哺育。羽毛成就——羽翼豐滿。舉不失宜——凡事不失其時。君臣相好——君臣和睦。盜走奔北——盜賊北逃。終無有晦——始終無陰晦之患。此為天時人事之理想展開：每一階段如期完成，上下和諧，威脅自行消散。從復至漸，山上有木，循序漸進。此變深化時序之邏輯：漸進發展，層層遞進，所建之序堅固至善，邪惡無處立足。居賢德善俗——漸之道在穩步積累，非一蹴而就。
