雷在地中，原詩寫戰亂之景：車馳人趍，卷甲相仇——車馬奔馳，將士疾行，裹甲而戰。齊魯寇戰，敗於犬丘——齊、魯交兵，一方潰敗於犬丘。春秋齊魯爭鋒為常事，此處以地名「犬丘」暗示戰事之不堪。從復至小畜，風行天上，以文德柔化剛健之力。此變揭示：鄰國間之暴力衝突，本可以耐心涵養化解。復之猛動遇小畜之柔蓄，風之輕撫勝於甲兵之搏殺。
