注释
天在山中，大畜蓄積之象。牛驥同堂——牛馬混居不分。郭氏以亡——虢國因此而亡。國破為墟——國家成為廢墟。君奔走逃——國君倉皇出奔。「牛驥同堂」為不辨賢愚之典喻。虢國之亡在於君主不能分辨忠佞，賢者與庸人同處而不加區別，國政遂廢。從大畜至恆（雷風），蓄積之力化為持久之道。恆者，立不易方。然所恆者若為錯誤之政策——賢愚不分、牛馬混處——則恆久不過是長期衰敗。蓄而不辨，積而不選，終至覆亡。
