天在山中，大畜畜德之象。躬體履仁，尚德止訟——以身踐仁，崇德而訟自消。宗邑以安，三百無患——宗族邑里因此安寧，數百家無憂無患。大畜之君子多識前言往行以畜其德，至需（雲上於天）則以所畜之德化為從容等待之智慧。飲食宴樂，安居以待天時。從蓄積到等待，非無為之閒散，而是德充於內、不爭於外，以仁化人，訟不待斷而自止。
