注释
水洊至，三河俱合。洪水怒湧，暴漲而起，壞我王屋——王宮為洪水所毀，民飢於食。此詩寫至大之水患：非一河而是三河合流，以聯合之力沖毀權力之所。從坎至節（澤上有水），水在澤上——節制與度量之象。然此詩示節制失效時之景象：本當受堤岸河道約束之水不受節制而合流，容納之結構（王屋）反被沖毀。節之存在正因無節制之水會毀滅一切。制數度、議德行，方是治水之本。
