明兩作離，火入明入地中之明夷。使伯東乘——遣長兄東行。恨不肯行——長兄怨恨不願前往。與叔爭訟——與弟爭執。更相毀傷——互相傷害。詩寫兄弟因差遣不均而反目，互為仇敵。從離至明夷，明入地中，用晦而明：光明沉入地下之時。離火之明本可照人，然當兄弟相殘，光明反噬自身。如兩火相遇不合而互焚，各傷其身。明夷之世，光明者受傷，此即手足相殘之悲——光明不照外而向內燃燒。
